This shampoo bar features oodles of concentrated green tea extract. Did you know that green tea is full of potent anti-oxidants called catechins? I could've called this bar the Catechin Bar. Studies have shown that green tea may help reduce skin cancer, rejuvenate old skin cells, improve psoriasis and dandruff conditions, and neutralize damage done by exposure to UV light.
But we didn't stop there. We took it to the next level by infusing the oils with organic nettles, known for their ability to stimulate hair root growth and add smoothness and shine - AND organic horsetail, full of minerals and natural silica, which adds strength and slip to the hair shaft. Enriched with luxurious mango butter and jojoba, this bar is full of natural, nurturing care for your skin and scalp. The scent is a sweet, complex, citrus, herbal (in other words, incredible) blend of essential oils that would charm anyone. The Green Tea and Nettles shampoo bar is a terrific choice for folks who struggle with an oily scalp. So with all of that awesomeness happening in just one bar of soap - what are you waiting for?
Ingredients: saponified oils of an organic nettles and horsetail infused blend of grapeseed and organic sunflower, organic coconut, castor bean, mango seed butter, organic sustainable palm, and organic jojoba, green tea extract, rosemary oil extract, and essential oils of orange, lemon, lime, organic may chang, organic lemongrass, ylang ylang, ginger, fragrance*.
*Please be aware that this shampoo bar does contain a blend of pure essential oils plus less than .01% of a phthalate-free fragrance oil too boost the natural scent, find out more. As this soap contains a synthetic fragrance it is now being DISCONTINUED, once it's sold out it will not be coming back. If we can create a similar scent profile, or a scent that we think is reminiscent of this soap with just essential oils, we will bring it back. But the new version will be 100% natural, all of the same base ingredients, but with a slightly difference scent.

If you've never used a solid shampoo bar in your hair, you may wonder "how do I do that?" It's easy. Just get your hair wet, take the bar and rub it all over your scalp and hair. Put the bar down and work it into a wonderful lather. You may find that the first time you use a shampoo/body bar in your hair it feels different. Using natural ingredients is not going to give you the same feeling chemically laden choices do because the natural oils are not being stripped away. In addition, your hair may require a transition process before it is fully free of all the other chemicals and residues from prior hair products. You can read more about this transition process HERE.

Great Shampoo
I purchased this one mainly due to the nettles in it. Nettles are known for stimulating hair growth. I can't give a report on any growth yet, too soon to tell but, I can say the smell was great and it worked wonderfully on my hair. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as scent seeing as how I've never sniffed a nettle but I was pleasantly surprised at both scent and texture. It probably works great for growing out hair but there's just too many shampoo bars from Apple Valley to try that I can't bring myself to use just one exclusively

Green Tea and Nettles Shampoo Bar
I ordered a water softening showerhead just to be able to use this bar, and it has NOT disappointed! Both my daughter and I have seen a huge difference in our hair and scalp. I have very long (elbow-length), thick, oily hair that must be washed every 24 hours max with a deep cleaning shampoo, which leaves my hair dry and frizzy. Conditioners only make my scalp oilier without doing anything for my hair. My twelve year old daughter has shoulder-length, impossibly curly, frizzy, dry, blond hair and we struggled to find anything that would work for her. My eight year old practical son is thrilled to be able to wash everything with one product. :) We found a solution to BOTH our problems in this one bar! Tonight my daughter said to me, "Mom, this shampoo bar is a MIRACLE!" Enough said.

Great For Problematic Scalps!!!!
I love this bar. I have thinning hair and am closely approaching menopause. I also have dermatitis of the scalp which causes dandruff, itching, redness, etc. This stuff WORKS WONDERS on it! What a great combo: green tea and nettles. Green tea is known for it's antioxidants and nettles for problematic itchy type scalp. THIS MUST NEVER BE DISCONTINUED!! LOVE IT!!!!

Slightly drying
I am only comparing this bar to other Apple Valley bars since you could never compare Apple Valley soaps to other soaps. This was not my favorite shampoo bar since it was slightly drying to my hair and skin. I still used it until gone but was thankful to go back to the shampoo bar for grey hair.

I Love This Bar!
This is right up there with the White China Silk bar as a favorite. I have fine-ish hair that will usually behave however I ask it to. This bar left it very soft, shiny, and manageable. I would note that before judging the Green Tea and Nettles bar as a shampoo, wait until your hair is totally dry, as mine looked a little stringy until that point. After that, it was great. It lathers well and smells amazing, too. I would probably use an ACV rinse with this one just to stretch each washing a little longer, but I don't feel it's absolutely necessary every time for everyone. Overall, I can't say enough good things about this bar and about AVNS in general.

My scalp is loving it
I get bad dandruff in the winter. A few weeks ago I started using this bar and I like it a lot. My dandruff has been slowly going away...maybe soon it won't exist at all!

Oh my goodness!!!!
I am in LOVE with this bar! I have never been able to use shampoo bars for my hair. I have lots of long, curly, misbehaving hair. We have really hard water and I bought the shower head with the filter you suggested and tried this bar. OH MY GOODNESS! I have NEVER been able to not use conditioner (in order to get a brush through my hair). Guess what?! Not only does is not leave a nasty film but I didn't even use conditioner OR any other finishing product and my hair looks and feels great! I just put a smidge of your jojoba oil rubbed in my palms and scrunched my hair a bit when dry to tame any possible fly aways and I was done trying to manage my hair for the day! I am so excited!

Works Well, Smells Great!
After having all my babies, I've had dandruff and major hair loss as a result of those crazy postpartum hormones. I started using this bar soon after having baby #4. It really made a difference! This time I had no dandruff. While my hair still fell out like crazy, the new, short "baby hair" grew back in much more quickly than with my other children. Also it smells really nice without being too girly, which is a huge plus in a house of all boys!

My daughter has issues with eczema. This is our favorite bar to battle it. Not only does it help her eczema, but her dry scalp has also improved. As if these qualities aren't enough, the Green Tea & Nettles bar smells fantastic.
