Not for everybody. I’ll give it the scent. It seems fine on my husbands hair but it leaves a horrible coating on mine.

Love love love. Literally every product from AVNS. This one makes my hair so soft and lathers super well. Soft water is a must.

It smells so fresh and clean, lathers fairly well (though not as good as the cowboy for example), and is really moisturizing for the hair. My hair tends to feel a little oily after this one, but I like using it in combination with the white china silk (alternating days) as the w.c.s. takes care of the oiliness AMAZINGLY, yet I worry about using it too often and stripping my hair of silkiness, so then I use this one once in a while. (I have thin, fine hair that used to alternate between being oily and dry, but not anymore!) The people who complain of it making their hair dry or tangly must have hard water or maybe just wrong hair type for it, it doesn't have that effect on my hair at all.

We have a water softener AND a filtered shower head, but it is difficult getting a comb through my hair after washing. It tangles real easily. (It would be greatly appreciated if you could make a detangler with ALOT of slip!)So, I can't use the shampoo bars for my hair. I do, however, use them as body bars, and this one smells heavenly!

This soap smells amazing! There is ample lather and my hair smelled fantastic!

I like the light scent of this bar. It is not overly scented but enough to enjoy. It works well on my fine thin hair...even feels like my hair has more body. I also enjoy that I don't really need a conditioner after shampooing with this soap...my hair is easy to comb through...

I didn't like this for my hair. I thought with the coconut it would be really great. I love the smell and it lathers like crazy. The only problem is it makes my hair feel dry and it didn't want to style. It was a bit crazy looking. I do like to use it as a body bar though. So not a total wash out...lol. Just not for my hair.

I'm partial to anything coconut. I just love coconut scent and flavor. I use coconut oil for just about everything so of course I'm going to purchase any shampoo with it in it. I was not disappointed at all. The scent and smell are superb with the combinations flowing just right. It's not too heavy or light on my hair. I was able to brush it and it felt clean and light.

I was really excited to find a pure product I could use on my hair; and, I purchased this largely due to the overwhelming positive reviews. However, the second I rinsed it out my hair, it felt completely stripped like I used regular soap on it. I have fine highlighted hair and it literally took over a half hour to get the knots out of my hair! I used my regular styling products, but now my hair is greasy and heavy. By far the worst product I have used on my hair. I would not use or purchase again for my hair, but it makes a great body soap.

AVNS response: If you use shampoo bars with hard water, the minerals in the hard water will bond with the soap molecules and create all kinds of problems for you. If you have hard water, please don't use shampoo bars in your hair.

This is a fresh smelling bar of soap and a favorite for the family.

I love this..I had been using a very expensive cleansing cream and have been looking for a more reasonable product that still made my hair look good. I am not disappointed. I can comb my hair out with no conditioner, and my hair looks great days without rewashing it.

I love the way that this bar cleans, and that my hair still feels soft after washing. My only issue is the smell, it smells a lot like the standard "dial" bars, which isn't my taste, so I'll be trying a new smell next time.

Love it! I like it better than Chagrin Valley's coconut milk shampoo bar. Bonus is this is nicely scented while there's isn't. This has a nice lather and light citrusy scent. Leaves hair and scalp feeling fresh and clean!

My hair has not been so responsive to any shampoo as it has with this bar. LOVE IT!! In addition, no static either! Can say enough about it. I've fallen head over heals with these shampoo bars.

Hello! I have fought my baby fine hair since I was small, and I travel all over the country battling humidity, different kinds of water, and other hair related dilemmas. This bar (and only this bar) allowed me to blow out my hair with a dryer and round brush for full volume and shape for 12 hours, and it didn't look too shabby the following day. If I wear my hair up, I can get away with not washing it the second day. No product--I can run my fingers through it. No conditioner--it doesn't get weighed down. No tangles--if I carefully scrub at the roots and use my fingers to comb the shampoo through (instead of ratting it all together and using conditioner to detangle everything). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The scent was nice and light and I really liked this as a body bar. While it did not work out so great for my hair (I have every fine, thin, somewhat oily hair) I am glad I tried it.

I absolutely LOVE this soap, the scent, and all of the ingredients in it- which leads to why I might take just a little bit too long lingering in the shower. I have never experienced shampoo bars before finding this company and I will never switch back! The scents are absolutely amazing, loved the packaging, and my skin and hair are the softest that they have ever been. I have not even needed body lotion since I started using the bars. I am also a sufferer of dry frizzy hair. I've tried tons of types of moisturizing shampoos & conditioners and products with my hair still feeling stripped out and dry. I don't like skipping days for washing it, and I finally found Apple Valley. Tried and loved it! So gentle and it cleans so well. I haven't even needed conditioner after my hair got used to it! My hair is very soft & silky feeling now. Thanks so much for a wonderful product.

I have tried a lot of the shampoo bars. While they all smell great, the coconut citrus ended being the best option for me. I have medium length, thick hair that is a combination of waves and straight that is neither oily nor dry. With this bar, I don't need to use a conditioner and I can let my hair air dry to be more wavy or blow dry it straight and it doesn't feel like hay afterward. I also use it on my toddler and it works great.

The Coconut Milk and Citrus Shampoo bar is so very creamy feeling. It left my skin feeling so soft and the smell is amazing!

This is my first shampoo bar to try and I really like it! It lathers nicely and leaves my hair moisturized and shiny without being oily. Very nice.
I have to say, though, that the scent is not what I expected. It smells neither citrusy nor coconutty to me-just a nice clean soap scent. It is also more of a pale yellow, rather than the light orange pictured. Maybe I got a mislabeled bar?! I'm not sure, but I really like it, though!

I have used this as a shampoo and body soap and it does both jobs great!
