Shampoo Bar Samples

I've barely had time to try any more than the sample "sliver" you sent as a bonus. I'm writing this review so you won[t keep reminding me to write a review. They all smell appropriate for a guy.

I ordered 6 sample bars for my boyfriend and I to try. We were interested in two companies, Apple valley being one, and wanted to see what would work best for us. The last company we tried gave our hair loads of shine & volume, and lathered up more. The Apple Valley bars felt very ‘slick’ & didn’t foam as much. They were also more dense to the touch. Upon washing, due to that slick feeling, my hair felt instantly weighed down & the minimal suds disappeared quickly so it felt like I was just scrubbing my head without soap. I tried several different bars & all of them had the same result. I tried air drying & blow drying my hair, but both methods yielded the same results—flat, weighed down hair. For my hair type, at least a little bit of volume/lift is crucial. The bars did clean my hair initially, but by the end of the day I felt like I needed to wash again already (I can usually go every other day). My mid to ends were left frizzy & fly-away, yet also somewhat “stuck” together even with my moisture drench conditioner left on for several minutes after washing. I’m not sure what the differences are with how the two companies make their soaps, but AVNS bars just don’t mesh with my hair (which is long, very fine but lots of it, oily at the scalp & dry at the ends). I will say, that they included a sample of their rosemary lavender coconut body wash bar, and it smells soo heavenly. Better than all of the shampoo bars. It was a bit too drying for my skin, but the smell was so fresh and lovely & it may work better for a different skin type.

I was immediately impressed by the amount of thick lather the shampoo bars made. My hair performs just as it did with the previous products I used. I do have some mild scalp itch with the oily scalp formulation so I wonder if I should try the normal hair formula next.

I ordered a sample size of Bella Rose, which I have’t used yet. But I used a sample of rhassoul and avocado, which I did not like. I use mousse and a leave-In conditioner after shampooing. Those coupled with the shampoo bar left my hair with a film on it that made my hair dull looking. I won’t be using again. I’m also reluctant to use the Bella rose I ordered.

I was on the fence about trying a shampoo bar but am trying to quit using products with chemicals. The transition period that I had heard about bothered me. But when I found AVNSC that was in Minnesota, and discovered that a shampoo bar can be used for rest of body & face, I just had to give it a try. I am so very happy that I did. I had no problems with transition on my hair; probably because it is short and I don't color or perm it. My hair is completely white now and feels amazing after using these bars. I love that you can purchase samples for such a reasonable price so you don't have to buy a huge bar only to find it doesn't work for you. I am all in and after trying out my samples I will be back for more. I even got my husband to try a shampoo bar........he likes that he only needs the one bar for a shower. Don't hesitate, get some samples and be amazed :-)

Mango Citrus - love the smell but better suited for body soap as there isn't much larger. Restore - love the smell and lather Peppermint Tea Tree - refreshing scent and nice lather.

Love it and will continue to use again!!

Very good scents, and great quality product. I would love to see them add a line of conditioning bars as well!

So far I like how they work....lather up good...makes my hair feel clean
