It’s also for those who simply desire to keep those pesky mosquitos at bay. With our special blend of essential oils this soap is known and loved by many for its bug repellent properties. Our Camping Shampoo/Body bar will clean you from head to toe, is biodegradable and safe to use at campsites near bodies of water. Please note that I said “near” not in! The “Leave No Trace” guidelines state that even with biodegradable soap, the earth is needed to filter the soapy water, so it is strongly recommended that you shower or wash up 200 feet away from any body of water. Plus, as it’s also made with fantastic bug repelling essential oils, there’s the added benefit of an extra layer of protection from little pests.
We make limited quantities of our Limited Edition soaps, so once they are sold out, they are gone for the season.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are camping and using the hard water in a camp site’s shower stall, these bars will not rinse clean from your hair. They must be used with soft water or river water (taken up to your campsite) where the water is naturally soft. See our article on hard vs. soft water HERE. But even without soft water, it still makes a great body bar!

If you’ve never used a solid shampoo bar in your hair, you may wonder “how do I do that?” It’s easy. Just get your hair wet, take the bar and rub it all over your scalp and hair. Put the bar down and work it into a wonderful lather. You may find that the first time you use a shampoo/body bar in your hair it feels different. Using natural ingredients is not going to give you the same feeling chemically laden choices do because the natural oils are not being stripped away. In addition, your hair may require a transition process before it is fully free of all the other chemicals and residues from prior hair products. You can read more about this transition process HERE.

First time seeing this soap, I voted at three stars. I tent camp an average of two months a summer. Often in rustic campgrounds. Looking forward to testing this out next summer. Looking forward to seeing the results of the bug repellent capabilities! As for the hard water issue, thinking my hair rinse of unfiltered apple cider vinegar will fix that. Love your products!
